W&Q: The Art of Color in Ceramics And Glass

W&Q is a premier supplier of high-purity inorganic colorants and additives, providing the essential compounds that create the vibrant hues and unique effects in ceramic glazes and glassware. Our specialized portfolio, including Cobalt Oxide, Copper Oxide, Chromium Oxide, Manganese Dioxide, Nickel Oxide, and Cerium Oxide (CeO₂), Erbium Oxide (Er₂O₃), Neodymium Oxide (Nd₂O₃)

We understand that consistency, stability, and purity are paramount in high-temperature applications. W&Q's products are engineered to meet the exacting standards of the ceramics and glass industries, delivering reliable and brilliant results:

Cobalt Oxide (Co₃O₄): The most powerful blue colorant, it produces a range of shades from sky blue to deep cobalt. It is also a key component in creating black glazes when combined with other oxides.

Copper Oxide (CuO) & Copper Carbonate (CuCO₃): These compounds yield a spectrum of colors, from brilliant turquoise and greens in oxidation firings to the iconic oxblood red in reduction atmospheres.

Chromium Oxide (Cr₂O₃): A stable green colorant, it is used to produce emerald greens in glazes. It must be carefully formulated to avoid unwanted reactions in the kiln.

Manganese Dioxide (MnO₂): Used to produce earthy tones, including purples, browns, and blacks. It is also employed to create speckling effects in clay bodies and glazes.

Nickel Oxide (NiO): A highly versatile colorant, Nickel Oxide can produce a wide range of colors—from browns and grays to blues and purples—depending on the glaze chemistry and kiln atmosphere.

Iron Oxide (Fe₂O₃): One of the most widely used colorants, it creates classic terracotta reds, earthy browns, yellows, and, in specific conditions, the celadon green of reduction firings.
Cobalt Oxide (Co₃O₄): The most potent blue colorant, essential for producing a spectrum of blues and as a critical component in black glaze formulations.

Cerium Oxide (CeO₂): A multifunctional workhorse. It acts as a high-quality opacifier, a polishing agent for glass, a UV absorber, and a stabilizer in zirconium-based pigments.

Neodymium Oxide (Nd₂O₃): Famous for its "alexandrite" effect, it delivers colors that shift from lavender-blue in daylight to a soft pink under incandescent light, adding a dynamic quality to glass and glazes.

Erbium Oxide (Er₂O₃): Valued for its ability to produce delicate and pure pink colors, bringing a unique and subtle hue to specialty glass and artistic glazes.

At W&Q, we provide more than just raw materials; we offer the foundational elements of color science. Our consistent, high-purity compounds ensure that manufacturers and artists can achieve precise shades and stable results batch after batch.
